HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Dangerously large waves are still pounding the north and west shores of the Hawaiian islands.
In fact, waves are so large, the National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Warning for north and west shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai and for north-facing shores of Maui.
The warning is in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday.
Forecasters say warning-level surf is only expected on Wednesday, but will subside in the evening.
Surf could reach up to 25 feet at its peak.
Expect strong breaking waves, longshore and rip currents that will make swimming very dangerous.
Huge waves have been impacting Hawaii beaches for more than a week, causing a traffic mess along West Oahu last week.
