WAIALUA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Medical Examiner's Office has identified the pedestrian who died in a crash in Waialua Saturday night.
The victim was identified as 20-year-old Manuel Dominguez, of Honolulu.
Police said Dominguez was hit by a car at around 8:45 p.m. on Kaukonahua Road near Keakula Street.
The Medical Examiner's Office said he died of multiple blunt force trauma and ruled his death an accident.
The driver, 65-year-old Ronald Calpito, was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence and negligent homicide in the first degree. He was released pending investigation.
Police say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
This is the 5th traffic fatality of 2018 compared to one this time last year.
