NANAKULI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Traffic into to Oahu's west side may be slower than normal in the coming days.
Department of Transportation officials announced Wednesday the Nanakuli contraflow will not be set up in order for crews to complete the Farrington Highway turn lane project.
There will be no contraflow on Thursday, Jan 11 until Monday, Jan 15. The contraflow will resume on Tuesday, Jan 16.
Beginning on the 16th, the new contraflow will have three westbound lanes and two eastbound lanes open Monday through Friday from 3:30 till 7 p.m.
The turn lane project is set to finally be completed next week after costly delays.
Stretching for more than three years, the project faced speed bumps in construction and pre-planning.
The delays inflated the project's final price tag to $16.6 million.
