USPS debuts Year of the Dog stamp

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The U.S. Postal Service is commemorating the Year of the Dog with a new stamp.

The stamp features a bamboo arrangement and the Chinese character "fu," which means good fortune, written on red paper.

In the upper left corner sits a design of a dog to symbolize the new year.

The stamp will be issued in a ceremony on Thursday. It's the latest stamp in the collection of USPS that celebrates the Chinese lunar new year.

In 2019, the final design will come out which honors the Year of the Boar.

Chinese New Year is celebrated on Feb. 16.
