East winds today will be 15-20 mph with some stronger gusts. By tomorrow, the winds will be much lighter and with an approaching cold front, eventually turn southeasterly later in the week.
Today, expect passing showers and partly sunny skies.
High in Honolulu will be 81 degrees.
Surf is moderate in size today with two significant swells in our future. A new, long-period northwest will start rolling in late Tuesday and slowly build to a peak on Thursday. Waves will reach high-end advisory level and perhaps warning level. The next northwest is due over the weekend and at this point looks like it will be a very large, warning-sized swell. We will be tracking the evolving forecast and have updates as the week progresses.
Today's waves will be 6-10 feet north, 4-8 feet west, 3-5 feet east, 1-3 feet south.
