Woman, 70, critically injured in Salt Lake traffic incident

SALT LAKE, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A 70-year-old woman was critically injured after a traffic incident in Salt Lake on Sunday night, Emergency Medical Services said.

Police said around 6:15 p.m., the woman was walking in the area of Luapele Drive and Loina Place.

Officers said a Toyota truck was turning left from Loina Place onto Luapele Drive, when the woman stepped off a sidewalk and somehow fell to the ground.

Police, however, did not say whether the woman was struck by the truck.

The victim was also not in a marked crosswalk.
