Police arrest teen in Waianae kidnapping, robbery investigation

Honolulu police are investigating an alleged kidnapping and robbery in Waianae Friday night.

Sources say around 10 p.m., a 47-year-old man was sitting in his car at Nani Kai Beach Park when a 17-year-old man entered the car and held a knife to the man's throat. The teen told the man to drive and threatened to stab him in the neck. The man drove toward the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Center and was able to escape. The teen continued driving.

Sources say police found the vehicle as it hit a utility pole near Lualualei Homestead Road.

Sources say police arrested the 17-year-old man for kidnapping and robbery. A 26-year-old man and 23-year-old woman in the car were also arrested.
