Police seek suspects accused of beating, choking, burning woman in Kaimuki

KAIMUKI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are searching for five people suspected of a violent kidnapping in Kaimuki on Tuesday.

Sources told Hawaii News Now the suspects are accused of tying up a 28-year-old woman and torturing her at a home.

Police were called to the house that day, but sources said at the time, the victim told officers nothing was wrong. The next day, police were called to the hospital, where the same woman told police she was tied up, beaten with a baton, choked with a cellphone charging cord and burned with cigarettes and a meth pipe.

Those who know the victim, but didn't want to be identified, say they tried to get her help.

"She couldn't say much," one person said. "She had a helmet on, one of those bike helmets, and I asked her why she's wearing it, and she said she's protecting her face and her head from them hitting her."

Police are looking for three men and two women related to this kidnapping.
