HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Westbound traffic on the H-1 Freeway – along with surface streets in Kalihi and other nearby neighborhoods – was brought to a standstill on Thursday when a motor vehicle clipped the Gulick Street overpass.
Multiple lanes of freeway were closed in the aftermath of the accident, which visibly damaged the overpass. Concrete and other pieces of debris spilled onto the freeway beneath the overpass.
The type of vehicle involved in the incident is not clear at this time. The road was reopened a short time later.
