The Ohio legislature wanted opiate recovery clinics to be owned by doctors. Doctors are regulated and, by excluding non-physician owners and requiring physician ownership, the regulations on doctors now apply to opiate recovery clinics.

These changes have affected numerous Ohio opiate recovery clinics and the businesses that own them. The Ohio Pharmacy Board continues to issue regulations and enforce the provisions of the new law.
