Wichita State earned their spot in the Maui Invitational on Tuesday morning after defeating Marquette 80-66.
The No. 6 Shockers built off a close first half lead, by holding the Golden Eagles sharpshooters, Markus Howard and Andrew Rousey in check in the second half of the semifinal game. Howard and Rousey were held to just 10-of-33 shooting in the second frame of the game after a hot first half.
Rousey still managed to score 26 points and Howard added 25, but with no other players able to score more than five points. Landry Shamet led Wichita State with 19 points and added seven boards, in total the Shockers saw four players score double digits.
Wichita State will meet either Notre Dame or LSU in the Maui Invitational finals on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
