HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Hui Hanai announced that a new film by renowned filmmaker Edgy Lee (FilmWorks Pacific) will debut this month to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of Hawaii’s last monarch, Queen Lydia Kamaka’eha Lili’uokalani.

“Reflections of Our Queen" is a 78-minute feature documentary film produced by Hui Hanai for Hawaii, national and international audiences. It is a pastiche of intimate revelations into the personal and private life of Queen Lili’uokalani expressed through stories and remembrances of kupuna (elders) and their descendants. The film is narrated by Robert Cazimero who shares insights into the Queen’s music, shot on location at ‘Iolani Palace and Washington Place, the Queen’s home for 55 years. Noted Hawaiian entertainer Marlene Sai voices the Queen.

Major sponsorship for the film was provided by Queen Lili’uokalani Trust and Hui Hanai with additional support from the Dolores Furtado Martin Foundation and in partnership with Hawaii News Now.
