People across Hawaii might enjoy eating musubi, but few love SPAM as much as one British couple who are headed to Hawaii after having their wedding at the SPAM Museum in Minnesota.
Liverpool native Mark I Love SPAM Benson – he legally changed his name in 2016 to show his love for SPAM – and his wife, Anne, recently traveled to the SPAM Museum in Minnesota to get married. The service took place surrounded by exhibits dedicated to the brand.
“Marrying Anne was amazing alone, and the icing on the cake was getting to say our vows at a place dedicated to the brand that I love and holds so much nostalgia for me," said Benson.
Benson's grandfather and uncle both worked at a SPAM factory in Liverpool, and the product has played a significant role in Benson's life. Anne reached out to the SPAM Museum to ask about having the wedding there, and the brand's marketing department helped make it happen.
Next, the couple plans to travel to Honolulu, where they are attended this weekend's SPAM JAM Festival in Waikiki.
