Lighter trade winds today, with fewer showers for all islands except the Big Island.
It will remain fairly wet there, particularly along the Hamakua Coast and the Puna District, including the Volcano National Park. Kauai, Oahu and Maui County will see more sun today with the winds a bit more easterly.
High in Honolulu will be 82 degrees.
Expect a fairly dramatic change by tomorrow. A cold front approaching from the northwest will bend our winds to the south. Humid, voggy, uncomfortable conditions are expected starting Wednesday until the trades return Friday or Saturday.
Surf is a bit higher north and west today, and will be even bigger tomorrow, but remain well below advisory levels. The south side will get a bump Wednesday. A new and very large NW on Thursday will build to high advisory/low warning levels by Friday.
Here are today's surf sizes: 5-7 feet north, 3-5 feet west and east, 2-4 feet south.
Small Craft Advisory for the Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels, along with Maalaea Bay.
