Forecast: Increasing winds, showers for Easter Sunday

Increasing trade winds will push a weak band of moisture over the islands, bringing an increased chance of showers, especially windward areas of the smaller islands for Easter Sunday and Monday. Humid southerly winds will develop late Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of an approaching late-season cold front, which will bring more showers as it stalls out over Kauai and Oahu Thursday.
Surf is declining a bit for north and west shores, but saves will still be overhead for north shores. We still have a long-period south swell that won't decline until early next week. A big northwest swell could come in Thursday and Friday and could push surf near warning levels. Stay tuned.
