WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

North Shore’s own Jack Johnson will be performing two shows at the Waikiki Shell come August – and it's all for a good cause.

The concerts will happen Friday, Aug. 4 and Saturday, Aug. 5. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with entertainment beginning on the keiki stage at 4:30 p.m.

All ticket sales will benefit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation -- founded by Johnson and his wife, Kim – which has been supporting environmental education in Hawaii since 2003.

Pre-sales will kick off on April 18, with Kokua Hawaii Foundation members getting the first opportunity to buy tickets, followed by foundation volunteers and Hawaii residents. Tickets go on sale for the general public on April 23.

In support of the concerts, the foundation will also host two “Plastic Free Hawaii Beach Cleanups” on Saturday, April 15 in Kahuku and Kailua Beach Park. Volunteers will collect marine debris, which will be incorporated into Johnson’s stage design and concert merchandise.

The Hawaii shows are part of his nationwide tour. He’s also doing shows in Chicago, Maine, New York, Colorado, California and others. At least 10 shows are already sold out.
