HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Campus dining just got a little more extravagant for some Hawaii Pacific University students.

HPU announced Thursday that Hawaii chef Sam Choy will be developing and leading the newest student dining facility at the Aloha Tower Marketplace campus.

“HPU is actively changing the student experience in our downtown community," Sam Choy said. "Food brings people together, and this prime location will welcome students, other members of our island community and visitors from around the world."

The university is the first in the state to feature Hawaii Regional Cuisine by Sam Choy.

Visitors to the campus will also get to dine in the new restaurant.

The restaurant has yet to be named, and is expected to open to students by Fall 2018.
