A 30-year-old man was critically injured Thursday night in a moped crash on Oahu's North Shore, paramedics said.
The crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. on Kamehameha Highway near Long's in Haleiwa.
Police say the man driving the moped crashed into the side of an SUV as he made a left turn into a private driveway. He was thrown from his moped and ended up in a private parking lot.
He was seen weaving through traffic - even crossing the double solid lines - at high rates of speed before the accident, according to police.
It is unknown if the man was wearing a helmet. Police don't know if drugs or alcohol were factors.
