A 27-year-old man was critically injured after crashing into a city bus and utility pole in Kalihi early Tuesday, Emergency Medical Services said.
It happened on Middle Street near the bus transit station at around 3:30 a.m.
Authorities said the man was driving his sedan in the mauka-bound direction before hitting the pole. He then crashed into a city bus that was turning left on Middle Street into the bus depot.
The Hawaiian Electric Company said power is out and crews are troubleshooting.
Middle Street, between Kamehameha Highway and King Street, is being contraflowed.
Officials said the bus depot is running on its backup generator, which may cause buses to be delayed through the day.
