Forecast: Light winds return as chance of rain increases
Weak tradewinds have returned to the state with better air quality and lower humidity levels. A slight increase in wind speeds is due Tuesday, dropping off again for the rest of the week.
A cold front is approaching from the northwest, set to bring some rain to Kauai and Oahu Tuesday. The moisture will linger through the week and may even increase as a disturbance will enhance showers, spotty heavy rain is possible.
Surf is rising for north and west shores. Not big, mind you, but there could be some head-high sets for the north shores. East shores will also rise with a somewhat choppy trade swell.
A Small Craft Advisory will take effect at 6 p.m. for the Alenuihaha Channel.
