HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Thousands of anime buffs flocked the Hawaii Convention Center for the 13th Annual Kawaii Kon this weekend.

Many fans dressed in colorful and intricate costumes of their favorite characters while participating in table top gaming events.

Some even got to challenge professional gamers in special gaming tournaments.

This year's event was highlighted by the North American debut of Kannae Ito, Japanese voice of Yui from "Sword Art Online".  Also in attendance were Zach Callison and Deedee Magno Hall, both voice actors in the "Steven Universe" cartoon.

The annual Kawaii Kon is Hawaii's largest anime convention.
