Police looking for driver who fled after critically injuring pedestrian

KAKAAKO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Police are asking for the public's help to find the driver in a hit-and-run that left a 58-year-old with critical injuries.

The incident happened April 8, when the woman was crossing Kapiolani Boulevard at Kamakee Street about 5:25 a.m.

Witnesses said a white Toyota Corolla struck the woman, then fled eastbound on Kapiolani Boulevard.

The vehicle's passenger side mirror was located at the scene.

The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition with head injuries.

It's unknown if speed or alcohol were factors in the accident.
