KAPOLEI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Institute for Native Pacific Education and Culture (INPEACE) has been awarded the Office of Hawaiian Affairs' (OHA) 'Ahahui Grant to support the 501(c)(3), for-impact organization's Wai'anae Financial Fitness Fair.

The funding of $7,085, will enable INPEACE to grow its free, successful, annual Wai'anae Financial Fitness Fair, scheduled for April 22, 2017 at the Wai'anae Mall.  The event assists families on the Wai'anae Coast in setting up a financial plan to help them achieve their goals.

"The fair will introduce participants to the tools they need to make decisions in their personal and family finances with confidence," says Dr. Kanoe Naone, Chief Executive Officer of INPEACE.

This event has been well-received since its inception in 2015.  The highly anticipated event includes resource tables, mini-seminars, a youth financial reality fair, and free document shredding. It educates the community about, and provides resources on, economic self-sufficiency and security.  These are all core components of OHA's values and mission.
