The suspect charged in a deadly shooting on the Las Vegas strip over the weekend had ties to Hawaii.
According to public records, 55-year-old Rolando Cardenas previously lived in Aiea. Cardenas relocated to Las Vegas in 2007.
On Saturday, Cardenas allegedly fatally shot a tourist, and injured another man, on a double-decker Las Vega Strip transit bus. Cardenas then barricaded himself, creating a standoff situation that closed the strip for four hours.
Cardenas told detectives -- he was trying to scare a man on the bus with his gun -- and did not mean to hurt anyone.
Cardenas now faces murder and attempted murder charges.
