A Honolulu-bound flight from Oakland made an emergency landing in Kahului on Monday after people on board smelled smoke in the cabin.
No one was injured.
The Hawaiian Airlines flight had 241 passengers and 10 crew on board.
It left Oakland at 9:21 a.m., and landed safely in Kahului at 11:29 a.m., Hawaiian Airlines said.
Passengers on the plane were re-booked on the next available flights to Honolulu.
The emergency prompted a significant response at the airport, with a number of fire trucks and police vehicles spotted in the area.
