HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A truck reversed into a small restaurant on N. King Street Street, Saturday, almost hitting the owner's father.

"My father was two seconds away, going to the bathroom, then the car came," Island Style BBQ owner Kevin Dai said. "I was in shock."

Broken glass littered the ground fronting the restaurant, and there was a gaping hole left by the white Nissan Truck that was involved.

"I thought the person was parallel parking right in front of the restaurant, but instead of parallel parking — it looked like a movie — [they] came straight into my restaurant and came right through the glass," Dai said.

It happened around 10 a.m., according to witnesses. Dai said he saw one male in the backseat, and a woman ran to the driver's seat soon after the accident.

It took crews about 30 minutes to remove the truck.

Luckily, no one was in the restaurant at the time, and no injuries were reported.

The restaurant is closed until further notice as repairs are made.

It is unclear what caused the accident.
