The Chargers may be heading to Los Angeles but it looks like Manti Te'o won't be going with them. The Punahou product has signed a two-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, ESPN reports.
Te'o would be the second linebacker to sign with the Saints during free agency this year. He'll also be the third local product on the roster in New Orelans, joining Max Unger and Hauoli Kikaha.
Te'o is coming off a year cut short by injury. He tore his Achilles tendon in week three of the 2016 season. Health has been a reoccurring issue for the former fighting Irish standout. He missed 26 games due to injury in his four years with the Chargers.
That being said, if he can avoid injury he'll add some instant depth to the Saints defense, which finished 27th in the league in overall yards allowed last season. In 2015, Te'o led the Chargers with a team high 83 tackles despite playing in just 12 games.
