It's the first day of spring! The vernal equinox occurred in Honolulu at 12:29 a.m. Monday.

Your Monday will have light trade winds in the morning, then breezy trades at 15-20 mph for much of the afternoon. Windward and mauka neighborhoods will be mostly cloudy due to remnant clouds from a old cold front that are sagging down to our islands. Leeward beaches will be your best bet for sunshine and blue sky.

High in Honolulu will be 85 degrees.

Surf is moderate in size out in the country and should be lower tomorrow. Box jellyfish are possible along south shores today. Check with lifeguards before you or the kids jump in the ocean.

High Surf Advisory for the west shores of the Big Island until 6 p.m.

Small Craft Advisory for the Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels along with coastal waters south and west of the Big Island.
