A driver left a gaping hole in the wall Sunday after crashing into a popular Maui fish market.
Maui officials say at around 11:15 a.m., a 67-year-old female driver was attempting to park her vehicle across the restaurant. She accidentally backed into a parked car and accelerated forward.
The driver hit the side of the building causing extensive damage.
No one was seated in the impacted area of the restaurant at the time. The driver was not injured.
A damage estimate is not yet available. The eatery remains open.
