HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Are you an Amazon shopper? Your tax-free shopping days are coming to an end.
Amazon has confirmed that it will start collecting sales tax for Hawaii customers at 12:01 a.m. Saturday.
The news has spurred Hawaii shoppers to get their Amazon purchases in.
The U.S. Postal Service said it's seen a 10 to 20 percent increase in the volume of incoming Amazon packages over the past seven days.
Come Saturday, there will be no remaining states where customers can still avoid sales tax by heading to Amazon. (It had been down to four, including Hawaii.)
Amazon has declined to release further details on the issue.
In the meantime, you might want to pay for that cart of Amazon goods before April Fools' Day.
