Hawaiian Culture-based education is a key component of Hawaiians’ success

As demonstrated in events and long-standing traditions like the Kamehameha Schools Song Contest, Hawaiian culture-based education can be found in mele (song), mo?olelo (stories) of our people, experiences and lands.  A strong Hawaiian identity is key to educational success.  A Hawaiian who is strong in their identity and culture is able to compete at the highest levels throughout the world.

Partnerships with organizations with aligned visions is key to the educational success of Native Hawaiian learners. The partnership between Kamehameha and UH is an aligned effort between the two educational institutions to increase the college completion rate of Native Hawaiian students. Improving college going rates and completion will be accomplished through early college, key data sharing, living learning labs in Mo?ili?ili (Kapa?akea) the gateway to the university system and ?olelo Hawai?i.
