Forecast: No relief from thick vog

Another hot, humid, hazy day.

The volcanic haze or vog will be thick. The afternoon high in Honolulu will be a sticky 83 degrees. Winds will be light and variable until the ground heating creates some afternoon sea breezes. Interior neighborhoods could see some dark, ominous clouds form and perhaps a few showers. However, the atmosphere is fairly stable so heavy or long-lasting showers are not expected.

No change in our weather is expected until a weak cold front passes through on Friday. Moderate to breezy trade winds will fill in behind that front and stay through the middle of next week -- hopefully beyond.

Surf is dropping along north and west shores. The next advisory swell is forecast for east shores this weekend. Surf sizes today will be 7-10 feet north, 4-7 feet west, 1-3 feet east and south.

No marine or weather advisories are posted.
