HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The suspect in an apparent road rage-fueled shooting that killed a 32-year-old man in Aiea on Saturday has been indicted for murder by a Hawaii grand jury.

Darryl Freeman, 72, faces second-degree murder charges, along with various firearms violations. Police says Freeman killed Keenyn Pahio along Moanalua Road following some sort of altercation.

Sources say witnesses at the scene of the shooting saw Pahio exit his car and punch Freeman, who then allegedly shot Pahio and fled the scene.

Officers located Freeman at his home, about two miles from the scene, and arrested him without incident.

Records show Freeman, a former firefighter, was found guilty of theft and firearms violations in the early 1990s. His driving record shows more than a dozen citations and violations going back nearly 15 years.

Freeman's bail remains set at $2 million.
