WASHINGTON D.C. (HawaiiNewsNow) - The White House re-launched public tours on Tuesday, and a group of Hawaii high school students were among the first to visit since President Trump's inauguration.
Some 19 Kaimuki Christian School ninth and 10th graders are in the nation's capital for a school trip and got word Sunday night that their White House tour had been approved.
They were on the very first public tour of Trump's White House at 8:30 a.m.
Later in the day, the president made a surprise appearance, greeting students and others touring the White House.
The White House has been closed for tours since Inauguration Day, and the prolonged closure has made headlines.
