HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - On Saturday, March 18th head down to Queen Kapiolani Park for an exciting day of fun and fundraising in support of the 18th Annual Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes.  Approximately 3,000 people from corporate, family, and friend teams will be walking in support of finding a cure for diabetes.

There will be health screenings available at the Step Out Health Fair along with other health/wellness information for the community to take advantage of.  Registration begins at 7:00 AM with the walk starting at 8.  There is no cost to register but we do ask participants to fundraise or make a donation towards the cause.

On average, it costs Hawaii over $1.5 billion each year to help those afflicted with the disease. Funds that are raised through this event will allow the American Diabetes Association to sustain and expand the many disease prevention programs and services available to support those who are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, and support all people of all ages living with all types of diabetes.
