The weather will be a bit cloudier and wetter for Oahu and Maui County, thanks to a dissipating cold front that has stalled over the central islands. Drier conditions should prevail for Kauai and the Big Island.
As we head into the new week, another upper level disturbance will combine with another approaching front to increase the chance for rain statewide. There could be some heavy downpours and maybe even the chance of a thunderstorm starting Tuesday night for Kauai, and then Oahu and Maui County Wednesday night through Friday morning. We'll fine-tune the details as we get closer to that time period. Winds will remain light pretty much all week.
A High Surf Advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Monday for north and west shores of Kauai and Niihau and west shores of the Big Island. A Small Craft Advisory is also in effect for waters northwest of Kauai and north of Oahu.
