The state Department of Health is warning swimmers to stay out of the water at Lualualei Beach Park because of a wastewater discharge.
At least 200 gallons of wastewater have aleady spilled from a broken pipe near 86-080 Farrington Highway, the department said Friday afternoon, noting that the discharge was ongoing.
The untreated wastewater is entering into culverts which eventually empty into the waters at the park, officials say.
Warning signs have been posted at the beach and will remain up until the water is safe.
