Halawa residents had a rude awakening when a siren blared shortly after midnight Tuesday, but the Department of Emergency Management said it was a runaway siren and that there was no emergency.
The siren sounded for about an hour until Honolulu police and firefighters located the source at Camp Smith and turned if off.
No word on what caused the siren to go off.
