Wallet Hub ranks hundreds of U.S. cities for their suitability for an active lifestyle. Most of the factors they measures were outdoor environment and sports facilities, weighted rather heavily to indoor facilities. Weather was relegated to less than 4% of the total. A third was the cost of stuff. That's snowed-in Madison, Wisconsin, came in first, while Honolulu came in 27th.

More than 200 houses were sold last month on the Big Island - median house price fell below 300, but Kona prices rose to more than double that. Kauai had 55 houses sales and the median came in 20% higher than year-before, at 690.

The PUC rejects an application by AES Hawaii to expand Hawaii's only coal-fired power plant. Not in the public interest, regulators said.

The Ige administration has a new state consumer advocate. Dean Nishina has been acting since September, but starting this week the title is his. He previously held the job in 2010.
