TRAFFIC ALERT: Zipper lane reopened after ZipMobile malfunction

PEARL CITY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The state Department of Transportation has reopened the zipper lane after a malfunction caused a ZipMobile to stall during the morning commute.

The ZipMobile stalled at approximately 5:15 a.m. near the Sears Distribution Center in Pearl City.

The state Department of Transportation said there was a mechanical issue with the vehicle, but it was up and running again about an hour later.

The zipper lane reopened around 7 a.m.
