Wet weather prompts alerts, closures for state

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

An unstable air mass has brought rain, some of it locally heavy, to much of the state. There's still the potential for thunderstorms through Monday evening. 

Here are active weather alerts for the state:

Hawaii Island

  • Flash Flood Watch in effect until Monday afternoon.
  • A Flood Advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Monday.
    • At 7 a.m., radar showed locally heavy rain continuing over the Big Island. A rain gage at Kapapala Ranch reported a third of an inch of rain in 15 minutes. 

Maui County

  • Flash Flood Watch in effect until Monday afternoon. 

Oahu

  • No watches or warnings

Kauai County

  • No watches or warnings
