HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -
Gusty tradewinds are rushing through the state and should linger through Thursday.
Several fronts and an upper level weather disturbance will create instability in the atmosphere, especially for the Big Island where thunderstorms can form on Wednesday and even a blanket of snow and ice on Hawaii Island summits.
The Big Island leeward slopes will likely see more intense afternoon showers due to the instability aloft starting Wednesday and continuing into the weekend.
Weather models are suggesting the heaviest of rain over the eastern-end of the state. Some of this action, will impact our windward and mauka neighborhoods over the rest of the island chain that may spread to the leeward side at times.
