A 63-year-old man was found floating face down in waters off Kohala Light House by surfers Saturday morning.
The incident was reported around 10 o’clock at the popular surf spot in North Kohala.
Reports say the surfers started CPR on the man in the water and brought him to shore where he was transferred to emergency personnel and taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Firefighters have deemed the drowning an accident.
Authorities have not released the man’s identity.
