Forecast: Swell to subside, but wave heights to remain at dangerous levels

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Expect the light wind weather pattern to continue through the weekend. The good news: Gusty tradewinds are due back Monday.

The current northwest swell will be dropping through Saturday, although wave heights will remain at dangerous levels. Another big swell with possible warning level wave heights is due Sunday afternoon, peaking on Monday.

A High Surf Warning is in effect north and west shores of Kauai, Niihau, Molokai, and north shores of Oahu and Maui.

A High Surf Advisory is up for west shores of Oahu, north shores of the Big Island.

Also, a Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for most Hawaii waters.
