Forecast: Gusty tradewinds due back by Monday

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The light wind weather pattern will continue and persist through the weekend, though weak tradewinds are due back on Sunday. Look for morning sunshine, afternoon clouds, isolated showers, and higher humidity levels. Gusty tradewinds are due back Monday.

A new and large NW swell will build and peak overnightand hold tomorrow. Only experts in the water, please. Check with lifeguards to make sure you are watching this spectacular show from a safe location.

Here's the NWS forecast for today: North shores building to 20-25 feet, West shores 12-16 feet, East and South shores 1-3 feet.

A High Surf Warning is in effect for north and west shores of Kauai, Niihau, Molokai, and north shores of Oahu, Maui.

A High Surf Advisory is in effect for west shores of Oahu, north shores of the Big Island.

A Small Craft Advisory is up for most Hawaii waters.
