A Kapaa man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly firing his gun near five children in an attempt to scare them away.
No one was injured in the incident.
Randy Yamagata, 48, was arrested for first-degree reckless endangerment and first-degree terrorist threatening.
Police said the incident happened about 2:15 p.m. on Olohena Road, near the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex.
The five kids, ages 11 to 14, were on Olohena Road when the man appeared from his property.
He was arguing with the children when he allegedly shot at a tree.
Yamagata was arrested and released on $10,000 bail.
