Waves out in the country will get big again today! But first, the weather.

A cool start to our Thursday with many neighborhoods dipping into the 60s. Calm winds will become sea breezes by afternoon. There may be some cloud and shower formation over interior and leeward areas by mid afternoon. Otherwise, sunshine should rule the day.

High today in Honolulu will be about 83 degrees.

A new and large NW swell will build throughout the day and likely peak overnight tonight. Only experts in the water, please. Check with lifeguards to make sure you are watching this spectacular show from a safe location.

Here's the NWS forecast for today: North shores building to 20-25 feet, West shores 12-16 feet, East and South shores 1-3 feet.

High Surf Warning for north and west shores of Kauai, Niihau, Molokai as well as north shores of Oahu, Maui.

High Surf Advisory for west shores of Oahu, north shores of the Big Island.

Small Craft Advisory for most Hawaii waters.
