Forecast: Mostly pleasant conditions on Election Day

The waves are still big and dangerous along north and west shores.

Only experts in the water, please. Check with lifeguards to make sure you are in a safe spot to watch Mother Nature's show. The NWS surf forecast calls for 25-35 feet on north shores, 18-25 feet on west shores this morning. The swell should start dropping this afternoon. East shores will be 2-4 feet, south shores 1-3 feet.

High Surf Warning for north and west shores of Kauai, Niihau, Oahu, Molokai... north shores of Maui, Big Island.

High Surf Advisory west shores of Maui. Small Craft Advisory all Hawaii waters.

Caution to Harbors with NW exposure.

Quite a bit of cloud cover to start our Election Day Tuesday.

Showers will be few and brief and mainly windward and mauka. The sun should burn through some of those clouds this afternoon. The winds are light this morning, but should be trades at 15-20 mph this afternoon. High in Honolulu a pleasant 82 degrees.
