HANA, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) -
The existing path and stairway to the Waianapanapa State Park black sand beach and bay will be closed until the end of November due to construction, the state Department of Land and Natural Resources said.
The closure starts Nov. 7 and is expected to end by Nov. 28, barring any delays due to weather.
The six-month project involves an installation of a new 4-foot-wide walkway along the scenic coastline of the park.
The campground will remain open, but campers should note that construction will take place on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
