HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - There may be a bigger smile when Garth Brooks heads to Hawaii in December...Brooks, who lost entertainer of the year at last year's Country Music Awards when he returned to music after a 13-year break, won the top prize at the show yesterday. Brooks will be performing with his wife Trisha Yearwood in Hawaii as part of the 75th Commemoration of the attack on Pearl Harbor. There will be four shows at the Blaisdell Arena on December 8th, 9th and 10th.
On the heels of his new hit song "24K Magic"...as the NEW "Uptown Funk"....Hawaii boy Bruno Mars is on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine…and for music fans; that?s a pretty big deal. Not only is it awesome to be on the cover, but the article inside itself is an intense read for music fans.
It talks about the writer catching up with Bruno Mars as he is trying to finish the new release this past late July. It talks about where Mars is mentally right now and going thru the motions of listening to tracks till it?s just right. But it also goes and talks about Mars time in Hawaii when his dad moved from LA to the islands. Impersonating Elvis in Waikiki and going from the family band, to the hardships of life. It also talks about his heartfelt closeness to his mom…
It was an excellent read; I?ll have to go over it again because it was interesting… Just FYI for parents; there are the use of colorful metaphors in the article, but hey; it?s Rolling Stone Magazine.
Makana was on Maui recently taking a swim when he heard this. He posted the video on Facebook and wrote " I was swimming after dark in the waters off Wailea and I heard music so I walked up on the beach and lo and behold Sting was in (what was supposed to be a private) concert right there at the edge of the sand!"
